Example: Divide 1.6842 by 0.75

The divisor 0.75 has 2 decimal numbers.
So we multiply 0.75 x 100 = 75 (because 100 has 2 zeroes)
and we multiply 1.68 x 100 = 168.42
and divide 168.42 by 75 to get the answer 2.2456

I need help dividing big numbers!

In this case, the decimal ended because we got a remainder of 0. If this doesn't happen, you will have to round your answer. If we wanted to round our answer to 2 decimal places we would do our division only as far as the 5 as you can see. The answer would be 2.25
