Midterm FAQ
When and
where is it?
March 20, 9-11 am, rooms are as follows:
Monday/Wednesday class – T131
Tuesday/Thursday class – T133
Wednesday evening class – T135
What
does it cover?
Everything
from Z test for 2 means through one-way ANOVA.
What can
we bring?
Two 8.5 x
11 cheat sheets (both sides), a calculator and the statistical tables. Note that
this test is closed textbook.
What
kind of wording issues can we expect?
- If you are asked to interpret a
p-value, what they want is for you to compare the p-value to the level of
significance and either reject or not reject Ho.
- If you are asked to use the
p-value approach, what they want is for you to calculate the p-value
instead of finding a critical value and compare the p-value to the level
of significance (or use the general rule of thumb if a level of
significance is not provided).
- If a level of significance is
not provided in a question, that means you need to use the general rule of
thumb.
