Note: Express all final answers as decimals accurate to 4 decimals (0.1234) or as percentages accurate to 2 decimals (12.34%) unless otherwise stated.

 

Your assignment is to collect data and test a hypothesis. You decide what data to collect and how you’re going to collect it. You also decide what hypothesis to test. The only restriction is that you must collect at least 40 pieces of data. These are the instructions:

 

1)     Test your hypothesis at a 5% level of significance. State the test statistic and conclusion. (2 marks)

2)     For which levels of significance between 1% and 10% would the opposite conclusion be reached? Explain why. (2 marks)

3)     Construct a 95% confidence interval based on your data. Interpret the interval. (1 mark)
